Sophie Fessey
Teacher
Hello
Hello, my name is Sophie and I have been dancing since I was two. I’ve always enjoyed performing and being able to express myself through movement and music.
I now love being able to pass on some of my experiences with our students and help them find their feet with dance. I love watching all the children perform; whether they are dancing just for a hobby or if they have dreams of performing when they’re older. It’s a great feeling, being part of their journey.
My Story
I’ve been with the L.A.D since 2004 and you will now mostly find me teaching 1-1 lessons for our festival students as well as teaching other classes, alongside some of our other teachers. As a student at the academy, I took many exams and medal tests, performed at events and shows across the country. Some of these included Disneyland Paris, Her Majesty’s Theatre London and Blackpool Opera House.

At 16, I studied Performing Arts and Musical Theatre. From here, I auditioned for my dream job; being a world-famous Red Coat at Butlins. I successfully gained employment at the resort in Bognor Regis, hosting shows, performing, character work, DJing and working in the children's activity clubs. I had some incredible performing opportunities here and also got the chance to work alongside Diversity, Mr Maker, Stephen Mulhern and Dick and Dom to name a few!
In 2017, I returned home and back to the L.AD to continue my training and completing my exams. I am now working hard to achieve my associate teacher qualifications with the help of Mrs Clark in Tap, Ballet, Modern and Acrobatics.
