Claire Bateman
Teacher
Hello
My name is Claire Bateman and I teach some of our younger students here at The Loughborough Academy of Dance.
I love seeing our smallest students come to us and find their love for being creative through dancing and performing, exploring their own personalities and passing onto them the passion to perform.
My Story
I have danced and performed all my life and I hold qualifications in Dance and Singing, growing up in the home counties I was lucky to have many opportunities on my doorstep and participated in many semi-professional productions.
At 18 I moved to Leicestershire to Study a BA in Performing Arts at De Montfort University, here I majored in Dance and was trained in the Alexander and Graham techniques and studied in depth contact work and injury prevention. After Continuing to perform alongside other work I met my husband and had my family, still having a passion for Dance and Performing I made the transition to teaching alongside my full time job.

I have two girls who both dance with The L.A.D, through my eldest’s passion for Performing you can often find me as chaperone for other companies in my spare time and my youngest can often be found as a student teacher here within The L.A.D.
